Swelling: Any pain, bleeding, or (as in your case) swelling deserves immediate evaluation. Before the appropriate treatment (medication/observation/laser/palliative/etc) can be applied, the cause of the problem (bacterial/viral/fungal/traumatic/allergic/systemic/etc) has to be determined.
