What would experts say? could a gap between teeth become a problem after having a tooth pulled?

Depends: How far is the extraction from the "gap" teeth? If close and if you have gum disease with loose teeth, the chances are greater for the gap size to increase.

Depends: Whether or not the gap from the missing tooth will become a problem or not may depend on the position of the teeth adjacent to the gap, as well as the tooth that was opposing the tooth that was removed. Teeth can shift toward the gap as and the opposing tooth can continue to erupt, both scenarios causing potential bite and periodontal problems. Your dentist can advise you.
