Evaluation: Have yourself evaluated at a local dentist. The "gap" may be due to cavities, or to teeth that have naturally shifted. Each requires different treatment. Your dentist will know what to do.

Gap between teeth: When 2 teeth do not have a sufficiently wide contact between them, food can accumulate ; actually wedge the teeth apart creating food impaction. Gum inflammation ; promote the formation of cavities ; bone loss. Sometimes this can be easily remedied with fillings on one or both teeth. Sometimes it requires crowns on one or both teeth. Orthodontics might be in order. Your dentist can explain options.
