Depends: Perception of pain and how we handle pain varies from person to person. Your mouth should be numb when the procedure is performed. However, you can still feel pressure under local anesthesia. Some patients associate the pressure sensation as a painful stimulus and may have an unpleasant experience. There are some patients who may have a difficult time getting numb, and can consider sedation.
