Varies: Post operative pain is generally related to the trauma incurred during the procedure. The trauma is related to the preoperative condition of the surgical site. If a wisdom tooth is impacted by soft tissue less trauma occurs than if it is impacted in bone. If the tooth is erupted there is even less trauma. The best information can be gained by discussing your case with your oral surgeon.
