Not during.: When performed by an experienced dentist, the discomfort and post operative pain will be minimal, even with difficult wisdom teeth extractions. Your best bet is to see an oral surgeon, but there are many general dentists who are more than capable of performing wisdom teeth extractions.

No: No. Either you are numbed with local anesthesia. or asleep with general anesthesia (often better). The postoperative discomfort is handled nicely with oral pain meds. Best result with an oral & maxillofacial surgeon
