5% permethrin cream: This cream is available by prescription and can be used in children as young as 2 months. The cream should be massaged into the skin from scalp to legs and left on overnight, rinsed off in the morning. All household contacts should be treated. Then wash all your clothing and bedding in hot water. You may need to repeat the cream in 1 week if itching persists.

3step Multi-approach: Scabies is a common skin infection and it's spread by direct contact with the scabies germ. #1the best treatment is prevention of contact when possible. #2however, once infection has occurred, the next step is to treat with one of several scabicide (scabies-killing) creams as per provided instructions. #3treatment's not complete however until exposed clothing, bedding etc. Have been cleaned, too.
