Scabies symptoms: The symptoms of scabies -- itchy red bumps -- are not due to live mites, but the body's allergic reaction to the mites, their egg, etc. It takes a while for these to be absorbed and the immune reaction to stop. Therefore, itching and new bumps commmonly continue for several days after treatment. Hang in there; it will clear up! If it takes more than 10 days or so, contact your doctor.
