Vegetarian diet: Both gout and high cholesterol are associated with high fat diets. If you don't want to go full vegetarian lean meats are fine. Also avoid alcohol and sugar intake.

More vegetarian: Gout is caused by an increase in uric acid in the blood. Uric acid is a waste product of protein metabolism. There is a list of foods to avoid to help prevent a gouty attack. Unfortunately everything is on the list. My recommendation is to eat everything you are eating , but eat one half the amount of the bad foods and substitute more vegetables, fruits, nuts into your diet.
