Also on colchicine?: You should also be on Colchicine in the early days the first six months of allopurinol. It is expected that as uric acid drops this will precipitate release of tissue bound urate and gout attacks. This is why you are on Colchicine twice a day to prevent flares. You need to clear all of this with your physician.
