Why might it be that my only symptoms of an ear infection be a fever and vertigo?

Any infection can: Cause a fever and your inner ear is your balance organ. Any significant changes to the pressure there can cause vertigo. Just be thankful you are not experiencing a bad ear pain along with your infection. I hope you are seeing an ENT and are undergoing treatment.
