A member asked:

I did bloodwork and my results for hsv2 igg came back .90. for the index interpretation included, it says .90-1.09 is equivocal but my doc said im positive without asking me to retest. ive had the same partner for 3 years. am i really positive?

Probably not, and a repeat now would not be useful. You do not need to take any special precautions as long as you or your partner have no evidence of an outbreak. It would be significant if a repeat test in a year is substantially higher (on the order of 2.0 or more) but even a persistent equivocal result is not indicative of exposure.
