Flying will not affect the pain. cant comment on safety. If a lot you need to see a dentist and postpone trip.

Gases expand in tooth at high altitudes when flying. A hole in tooth allows this to occur. causing pain. This is called air odontalgia. Be put on antibiotics and expect some discomfort or pain when flying. Either way get treated now or later to avoid more problems.
