Drainage needed: An abscess of the tooth can cause sever discomfort until the infection settles down. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatories are usually used as temporary relief but the most definitive treatment is to drain the abscess. See a dentist asap.

Swollen face: You should have been prescribed an antibiotic. This may take a day b fore you see an improvement in your symptoms. If you are not improving or getting worse see your dentist again asap.

Abscess: Infection. Will take 2-3 days for antibiotic to be fully effective. The tooth has to be treated, however, for a permanent "cure." as antibiotics stop working as soon as you stop taking them. Schedule treatment with your Dentist (or appropriate referral) for root canal treatment/crown or extraction/implant/crown.
