My mothers doc diagnosed her with a small breast nipple abscess. they act like theyre hesitant to drain or make a incision due to risk of infection. my mom is on antibiotics. can a doc cut a nipple or drain it safely? thanks! just was concerned?

Some docs may be reluctant to do anything on a breast that will always scar and the patient be unhappy with the eventual outcome. Find a general surgeon who has an interest in breast surgery and they will usually be happy to do the work.
