How long could one be fasting for a uric acid blood test? what is the optimal fasting range of time? thank you?

Your doctor may ask you not to eat or drink anything at least 4 hours before you take the uric acid test. You may also be advised that need you to stop taking any medication during that period, which could hamper the uric acid test results.
