Erythema noted on colonoscopy. does this always mean ibd? no ulcers or other forms of inflammation noted, just the erythema in the sigmoid region. stressing myself over it, gi didn't seem all that concerned or mention ibd in the talks after operation?

Its significance depends on the indication of the colonoscopy, especially if you have the symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody and or mucous stool, etc. With that finding, GI doctor can't tell you anything specific. You should patiently wait for the biopsy result. Good luck.
