My colonoscopy showed sigmoid inflam and edema. doc left a message today and he had my biopsy results, that everything's fine, and to call back. couldn't reach him. can i take "fine" to mean "not ibd?

Fine is good : Obviously you need to have a conversation with the doc. "fine" probably means it's not inflammatory bowel disease. This has classic findings. You may have irritable bowel syndrome, which is more of a diagnosis by exclusion, but "fine" means no obvious evidence of cancer or anything scary.

Maybe: 'fine" may be a normal finding, but don't guess. Wait and discuss fully with your doctor first.

More than likely: Inflammation can be caused by a lot of things ibd being one of them. The negative biopsy is good news meaning that there is no cancer and things like crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis have been ruled out.
