I had enterococcus uti and was treated with nitrofurantoin because my doctor did a sensitivity test. ive been going through this for 3 months. culture is negative now, still have symptoms. saw a urologist and cystoscopy is clear and ultrasound clear?

I am glad there is no structural abnormality on US and cystoscopy, you did not say what the symptoms are that would have been more helpful. The symptoms are from the inflammatory changes of the infection and may just need a little more time for resolution of inflammation. I would suggest never to wipe to the front when you do; and to check some other ways of reducing recurrent UTI peri sexual act.
