Yes, patient with chronic kidney disease (elevated creatinine) can safely take OTC vitamin D. However, in case of severe renal failure these OTC vitamin Ds may not be effective because those vitamin Ds need to be activated into active vitamin D3 in order to be effective. Good luck.
