A member asked:

My wife had a shunt put in for nph eight years ago, but still have the symptoms of someone without the procedures. her headaches, walking , and her bladder control had became worse. is there any further avenue we can do or discuss during our appoint?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Although the treatment of NPH is not always fully successful, shunting remains the best approach. Would ask about the integrity and stability of the shunt, the possibility of medication trials, and whether newer rehabilitation programs have shown value.
