Had pvd 4 years ago. recently had a new black floater so saw optho for dilated exam and oct which were normal. would these tests have picked up retinal or macular problems. the floater has disappeared now and doc said it was debris. thoughts please?

Yes, those exams should detect retinal or macular pathology. Floaters alone at your age are usually benign. Take care.
