A member asked:

I have very low iron and ferritine levels and i have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, can the low levels of iron and ferritine mimic the postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome? i feel faint and struggle to walk, am i in danger?

If you have true iron deficiency ( I use low serum iron&high iron binding capacity for that diagnosis) but are not yet anemic (with low HgB,Hct,RBC count, low.MCH,low MCHC, I wouldn't expect symptoms like POTS flare up with an episode of marked low BP&very rapid heart rate. Fatigue and maybe some weakness are seen in iron deficiency without significant anemia.
