So you know your blood pressure is high and it will be higher during a nightmare and yes, chest pain can occur with an acute spike in blood pressure and most often you will have shortness of breath at the same time. Your blood pressure needs to be controlled well and most of the time secondary hypertension is the case at your age. Have you had kidney disease or something else? Take care.
