A member asked:

Adnexal masses seen on ultrasound even though tubes and ovaries removed 7yrs ago with hysterectomy (cervix remains). how is this possible and what do colours on ultrasound mean? red, blue, yellow, orange, white?

If all ovarian tissue was removed in addition to the hysterectomy (except for the cervix), see your GYN physician for guidance, as he/she might require a laparoscopy procedure to obtain a biopsy. The "colors" on an ultrasound represent blood flow through the mass, with different colors showing different rates of flow.
