Regional bug bites of any type will often trigger transient swelling of nearby lymph nodes that can last for weeks. The groin nodes would reflect any input from that leg or the skin near that area.

Yes, reactive local (inguinal) adenopathies are commonly seen in such circumstances. Given the area involved, superficial infections remain possible and you should seek medical attention in case the area remains inflamed.
