There are multiple: There can be over a dozen nodes in the groin. They are often related to the body fighting an infection or to abnormal cells in your blood. It would advised to obtain further labs like a culture for any STDs that could cause this node. Further lab work should include a complete blood count and follow up imaging studies of the node to rule out any serious causes.
