There are NO absolute contraindications to doing an EMG study. The needles, either monopolar, concentric, or single fiber, at worst, might leave a tiny bruise, and the electrical shocks are minimally uncomfortable. Am perplexed as to the concerns you express. Do communicate with your treatment team.
