A member asked:

Upper emg test abnormal, there is electrodiagnostic evidence of a mild chronic bilateral c6-c7 radiculoapthies, without ongoing denervation. can you please explain that? thanks. test was done for spinal stenosis in my mri?

An "EMG" test measures conductivity of specific nerves/muscles. A "C6-C7" radiculopathy refers to a source of muscular malfunction, specifically surrounding the neck and upper shoulder areas. Spinal stenosis via MRI implies compression of the spinal cord in the region of cervical (neck) vertebrae secondary to trauma or vertebral disc herniation.

Needle electrode testing likely demonstrated neurogenic changes in muscles innervated by C6-C7 nerve roots, but an absence of denervation would suggest central axonal function remains relatively intact. That is, the amount of damage is currently mild as described. This could progress over time, however, and will need follow-up.
