I was on ambien 10mg which worked for a while but then stopped so my pcp put me on trazodone 50mg which worked for about 2 weeks and now i am back to having insomnia and having a very hard time falling asleep daily. is it ok to take both together?

No- not unless okd by your doc. The cause of your insomnia has to be investigated. In the meantime- a quiet comfortable room and bedding, soothing music, avoiding pm alcohol. coffee, tea and exercise should help. Wishing you ZZZs

No, it is NOT safe for you to modify your sleeping pill program on your own unsupervised by your physician. Clearly, you have developed medication tolerance, and this will happen with other pills in the future. Your best bet is a Sleep Hygiene Program, and you may need an overnight sleep study. Get a second opinion from a Sleep Specialist, if available.
