I know most hpv infections have no symptoms. but can some hpv strains cause or "switch on" autoimmune disorders that have symptoms like arthritis? can a doc w/ std specialty comment?

HPV is not known to have any such effects. The only STD believed to do this is chlamydia, or maybe sometime gonorrhea. Such infections can trigger the condition called reactive arthritis. But not HPV or any other STD.
