About 90% of genital warts are caused by HPV types 6 and 11, and the HPV vaccine is 100% protective against both types. That means up to 10% chance you won't be protected. However, genital warts really aren't serious, and you can be on the alert to get prompt treatment if warts appear. Your partner also should get care to confirm warts, or perhaps learn his genital bumps are something else.
