A member asked:

Can a hospital discharge an amnesia patient out onto the street who cant remember who they are or anything about their life, came into the hospital with no id, and no family or friends have showed up to claim or help them?

This would be an unheard of event and unprofessional. In the US. an investigation and litigation would result. The hospital should contact the police, or put this persons profile in the papers or on social media and TV as a missing person. All human efforts should be used to help this person.
