Sensodyne is for people w gum recession leading to root sensitivity. Red gums indicate infection/inflammation. Add that to your dull looking teeth needing brightening, what you are saying's that you are very overdue for professional care. If OTC's worked you wouldn't have needed to post your questions. You have significant problems that need professional care. Quit fooling around. See a Dentist.

Sensodyne is a desensitising toothpaste that helps when receeding gums expose sesitive dentine. Red and bleeding gums indicate that ineffective care has resulted in gum disease. You surely need to have your teeth professionally cleaned regularly. Your dentist will explain the teeth whitening options to you, but saving your teeth should be your priority at the moment.
