Sensodyne: Can't cure most causes of dental pain. Even for those very specific issues, it may take weeks or months to work. You should have your own dentist give you a complete clinical exam, along with the appropriate number and type of x-rays and determine why your teeth are sensitive. At that point, your dentist can discuss how best to treat these issues.

Not for toothache: Sensodyne toothpaste is for teeth tat are sensitive because gum recession has exposed the roots of the teeth. It doesn't "cure" gum disease, cavities, abscesses, traumatic occasion, and all the other things that make teeth hurt. Please see your dentist to determine the cause of the pain, and therefore the appropriate treatment. As you have discovered, they isn't a diy project.
