A member asked:

Is it possible to have a type 1 or type 1.5 pre-diabetes? or, is it possible to have type 2 pre-diabetes with mild insulinopenia, but without insulin resistance?

Type 2 diabetes by definition is an advanced state of insulin resistance. You can have reduced insulin release over time as the beta cells of the pancreas die. Type 1 diabetes generally develops acutely after some sort of pancreatic insult, so there is no prediabetic state like we see in type 2 diabetes. You could potentially see a prediabetic state in Type 1.5 DM.
