A member asked:

Very good afternoon doctors. if i had protein in urine on a dipstick test, would i follow-up with a nephrologist, a urologist, or with an internist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You go to your regular doc and first see if it is enough protein to be a problem. They can decide if it is and if there needs to be some basic preliminary testing done. They can then offer you information about who in your location is available to work up such issues if needed.
