Hematuria: Start with a urologist. Many issues are related to the bladder. And that is what needs to be evaluated further. Kidneys are usually evaluated with a scan.

Causes of hematuria: Hematuria can be caused by any bleeding in the urinary tract. Caused are a tumor of the kidney, kidney stones in the ureters or by a bladder tumor, among other things. Have your urine cultured and if you have hematuria with no uti, see a urologist (u) for evaluation . If the u's work is negative, see a nephrologist to see if you have rbc casts in your urine. This is a sign of kidney problem.
