What treatment do you think i will have for a 4.7 cm x 2.7 cm thyroid nodule. heterogenous with mixed solid and cystic areas, hyperechoic. wider than tall mostly smooth with i'll defined areas. suggestion of compression of the adjacent trachea?

You give more info with this question and this explain why CT of the neck has been ordered. However, my answer is the same, the nodule is likely benign but fine needle biopsy will be the next step. Take care.

Surgery will be needed regardless due to proximity of and compression on trachea. Further treatment will be guided on pathology. Many times long term thyroid replacement is needed.
