While it is true that aquagenic keratoderma can be associated with cystic fibrosis, it is not a definitive sign of the disease. In fact, many people with aquagenic keratoderma do not have any underlying medical conditions. If your son has never had any other signs it is unlikely that he has this condition. However, if he is concerned, he may want to speak with his doctor about getting tested.

His palms draw up some water in the shower & wrinkle. Fine. Same thing will happen swimming, doing dishes, washing the car or other forms of lengthy water exposure. It has NOTHING to do with being a CF carrier. It is not a sign of pending doom. You don't go 36 years with CF and not have any medical problems. Some have died of complications by then. You are overthinking this.
