A member asked:

Tooth pulled recently, but wasn't able to get a root tip out. she told me it'd get absorbed or come out. it was working itself out of my gum. tonight i was feeling it with my finger and it slid out! i lost it. it's sharp and slender. will i be okay?

No problem, no worries. Small non-digestible items (e.g. pebbles, bone pieces, teeth, etc) pass through the intestines without harm.

You will be just fine. Residual root tips do not pose serious health risks.

Yes you will be O.K. - However I do want to make the comment that unless the intention was to perform a coronectomy (sometimes done for wisdom teeth wrapped around or close to the nerve) the responsibility of the treating dentist is to remove all the tooth including the root, and I wonder why it was not completely removed.
