Infection ?: That's only a guess, since i cannot examine you. Your best bet is to call a local dentist for an appointment, since you cannot treat this problem at home. It may be due to periodontal disease, it might be from a non-vital nerve.

Infection: What you describe sounds like an infection. When you touch it, it increases the internal pressure on the nerves underneath the surface, causing the pain. Have it examined and treated asap before you develop severe spontaneous pain and swelling. These things do not go away on their own.
