Not indicated: Unless there is significant asymmetric septal hypertrophy and continued symptoms of shortness of breath, chest pain despite medical therapy.

Shouldn't need: As you describe it, there should not be a need for surgery. If you have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, surgery is done to relieve symptoms.
