Assuming that you are under the care of a physician who is overseeing your suboxone prescriptive use, and has a plan to gradually reduce the levels you are taking, avoidance of "street purchase" of controlled medication will prevent such overdose reactions. Much of the overdose incidents are due to synthetic fentanyl which is made with contaminants and can cause fatal consequences.

The paradox of being addicted to addiction treatment. If being currently enrolled in a Suboxone program you should not worry for yourself for as long as you are getting meds through a pharmacy. If buying street products time to seek reenrollment as legislation has relaxed and all providers can prescribe now Suboxone, start with establishing with a primary care doc.
