Usually, a good drug: Subutex and Suboxone are fda approved drugs for treating dependence on opioids. Subutex is usually the drug of choice in the early stages of treatment, while maintenance is done with suboxone. Research indicates that both drugs are reasonably impactful for both the psychological and the physiological dependence on opiates. Added counseling, improves compliance with drug treatment.
