It is an option if the alignment of the implant is such that the opening in the crown for torque driver access to the implant is close to the center of the occlusal surface. If the implant was placed askew due to bony constraints, the opening may be designed to exit the buccal surface of the crown making for an insightly restoration. Your dentist and technician can work magic with different parts.

This is a discussion to have with your Restorative Dentist. Depends in great pagrt on the implant. Talk your options over with your Dentist.
