A member asked:

I recently started taking losartan , what foods can i eat and not eat on this medication. it is prescribed for my blood pressure only?

Losartan causes potassium retention and people with kidney malfunction or taking other potassium retaining medications or potassium supplements have to exert extreme caution as abnormally high potassium blood levels are very dangerous. You should have periodic checks of your serum electrolytes and kidney function when you take losartan.
