You need to talk to a gastroenterologist about further testing. A barium swallow is not sufficient.

There can be many different reasons that food feels as though it is sticking in your esophagus (dysphagia). Although a barium swallow can sometimes give a diagnosis, further testing is usually necessary if that test is inconclusive. You should see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. Do not delay. Good luck.
