Semen in urine may be mistaken as mucus because both have almost the same viscosity. Mucus can be clear like precum or turbid with infection due to high white cell content or pinkish in color if blood is present. If mucus is present without sex, i.e. precum & semen are ruled out , urethritis is possible but it is usually associated with dysuria. Benign clear urethral discharge (mucus) is not rare.
