Jaw movements and swallowing straighten the Eustachian tube that allows air to pass into the middle ear from the back of the throat. The process is natural and has no worrisome consequences. Anxiety for whatever reason can make you focus attention on normal things and worry about them.

Regarding the management of anxiety, consider becoming proactive and getting involved in the following: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Biofeedback, Mindfulness Meditation, Aerobic Exercise, and Acupuncture. Any or all may help you control your reactions.
